No really... this jacket represents all of my totally random favorite Disney loves. I have honestly been planning this project for YEARS (around two to be exact) because I didn't wanna rush anything. I could've just went out and bought a ton of patches in a day (which is totally cool if that's what you do!) but I wanted it to be more organic for me. So I've been slowly collecting patches that mean a lot to me from random sources over time until I had enough to fill my entire jacket then I knew it was time. Also having a goal like somewhere special to wear it made it more fun and D23 Expo (a few weeks ago) seemed perfect!
This post is going to be super simple- literally just be showing all my patches and then the finished project. I'm so so thankful to my husband Scott for hand sewing each patch on. Most of them can be ironed on but sewing is definitely a more secure way to attach them.
First of all, you NEED the *perfect* denim jacket as your base. HERE'S a link to where I buy most of my denim pieces. I spent a good amount of money on all these patches so I wanted to make sure this would be a piece that fit well, was comfortable, a versatile wash and something I would wear for a very long time. I've shared the finished version on my Instagram many times and I get soooo many messages from you guys saying you are inspired to create your own patch piece! Which is seriously the funnest response! Please send me pictures if you do because I would love to see. :)
Below I'm linking as many patches as I can and adding source info for the ones I can't get links for. Thanks for reading!
