Eeeeeee...that's me squealing in excitement because date night is my favorite!
Yesterday Disney invited me and Scott to experience a night full of food and fun at Disney Springs.
. We stay so busy that it's really easy to put "us time" on the back burner, which is why we jumped at the opportunity to spend some alone time together at one of our favorite places on Disney property.
Below I'm going to dive into 3 reasons why I think Disney Springs is the perfect date night spot. Plus I'm sharing the details about our night and maybe inspire you to plan a little something something of your own.
1. Sooo many budget friendly options.
Unlike any other place on Disney property, it is completely free to park at Disney Springs. You don't need a theme park ticket and there's no cover charges at all. Meaning what you spend is entirely up to you and your budget. If you're celebrating a special occasion, there's plenty of signature dining restaurants for you to splurge on. You'll find lots of upscale food options that are as impressive as they are pricy. I'll tell ya, I've NEVER had a bad meal and Scott and I eat at Disney Springs very often (like every week often. Not kidding!)
Perhaps you're on a tighter budget and just wanna grab a small bite and enjoy walking along the water, you'll have more than enough choices to satisfy your palette and your wallet. From the stress of a very first date to the pressure of an important anniversary, you'll find what you're looking for here (and I guarantee you- much more!)
2. Adult atmosphere.
When the sun sets, the party heats up which means there is plenty of 21+ atmosphere to go around.
If you're a lover of the late night scene then I have exciting news for you. From 10PM-2AM Thursday - Saturday Disney Springs comes alive with special late-night offerings. Unwind, let loose and enjoy a different kind of Disney magic through exhilarating nightlife.
Eat, drink, dance, enjoy live music and of course make some room for romance with your special someone (or just spend a few hours talking about how much you miss your dog who's at home..totally fictional scenario of course.. ;))
Scott and I are major night owls so we love staying out late but we don't always want to do the same thing. Especially as locals, we like to mix up our experience which is so easy to do at Disney Springs. Sometimes we're in the mood for high-energy atmosphere (meaning I prob had a nap that day and I'm extra wired haha) then sometimes we just wanna chill, sip cocktails and indulge in something extremely delicious.
3. Activities to make it a memorable night.
Dining and shopping are a given but you'll also have the opportunity to take your date night itinerary to the next level with some really unique activities.
-Cruise Lake Buena Vista from the water aboard a vintage amphicar (if you're unfamiliar, picture the cutest little convertible you've ever seen DRIVE directly into the water and turn into a boat. Crazy!)
-Ascend 400 feet in the air as you hover over Disney Springs in the world's largest tethered hand-painted helium balloon. I absolutely love heights so combine that with the opportunity for 360 degree views of Disney and I'm in!
- The Void, an immersive hyper-reality Star Wars themed experience. This one will blow your mind as it truly feels like you are INSIDE of the Star Wars Universe.
-Take a more traditional route with dinner and a movie at AMC Dine In Theaters.
-Delight in the elegant side of Disney Springs by planning some time with a wine expert at Wine Bar George. I personally know nothing about wine but you can find me there eating all the accompanying cheeses, lol.
Whatever your vibe, there's SO MUCH fun to be had.
Speaking of fun, I'm sharing some photos from our date last night. We started the evening by eating way too much at The Boathouse. This is one of my favorite restaurants on property because it has a huge menu and everything I've ever tried is soooo good. The Boathouse is all about savoring the best from land and sea with fresh seafood (FLOWN IN FRESH DAILY) raw bar, steaks, burgers, sandwiches and just about everything in between.
It's also located right on the water which makes for great ambience. My love language is food so if there isn't food, it's not really a date. Side note, does anyone else judge a restaurant based on first impression of their bread service? Well I do and I would eat 5 baskets of their delectable bread if I could. I also got a blueberry lemonade which was sweet, light and full of flavor. Scott enjoyed the "Orlando Pride" which was bourbon and homemade blackberry citrus puree. For the main courses we devoured the meatiest crab cake I've ever had along with some perfectly seasoned fries and Scott had the filet mignon topped with lump crab and a giant sweet potato with cinnamon butter. The dessert menu tempted us but we made the agonizing choice to save room till later on.
Next up we visited Amorette's Patisserie to sip the ultra trendy millennial pink champagne and blue iridescent sparkling wine. Both were topped with white chocolate Minnie heads and they were as delicious as they were picture perfect. Keeping the foodie train rolling, we stopped by Sprinkles Cupcakes! Disney planned all these stops on our itinerary I swear. Though it's totally in character for me to be eating that much. Haha.
We finished the night by getting competitive in a round of bowling at Splitsville! This was perfect for us as we're both really competitive... even on date nights. Honestly I'm a terrible bowler but I sure had fun anyway. Scott won (obviously) but maybe I'll take him on for a rematch soon? I would have definitely took first place in the boomerang competition though. Check out my Insta Story highlights for proof. ;)
Lastly, a quick and relaxing boat ride awaited us to head back to our room at Saratoga Springs Resort. I can't finish this post without mentioning that this resort is literally right across the water from Disney Springs and we love staying here after a date night or even a fun weekend getaway!
We're so thankful to Disney for hosting us! If you decide to take any of my recommendations, please let me know. I'd love to hear about your own experience. Thank you for reading!
